Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the difference between the club meetings and completing a course?
The course is the fast track for people in a hurry to have the skills. It is based on education followed by action. Smaller numbers = intensive participation. Most people commence the course at the beginner’s level; some attend to refresh their skills.
2. Is there a difference between the 4 session course and the 2-Saturdays course?
It is simply a convenience to some people to take the Saturdays course. At the end of the series you have the same level of skills, no matter which course you attend.
3. What commitment does the course require?
The amount of time you put into preparation for assignments each week is up to you. During the course you would be programmed for three 'major' speeches of 3 – 5 minutes and a number of minor assignments. Impromptu speaking and MC tasks do not require much preparation. I would expect on average a minimum of 2 hours between sessions, perhaps 3 hours when preparing a speech, more if you want to put in more research and practice. And some time each week to read through your course notes.
